TubeHD offers a direct way to view Video Properties from both the playlist and the main menu - Video Properties consist of Media Specific Encoding inside the actual YouTube Video -

You can use Video Properties to determine the suggested Surround Format that should be used in playback of the content.  Media files will always be different at YouTube - some will have Mono Audio - while others will contain Stereo specific information.  In some cases, audio may contain CS (Circle Surround) Encoded Material which can be used with the Circle Surround II Decoder for amazing 5.1 speaker simulation.

 

Suggested practices with the Video Properties, include checking audio for CS/Stereo/Mono encoded material and adjust your Surround Modes Accordingly-
